Thanks Mike. Yeah, I plan on leaving everything the way it is and just making patches for the two large openings, and maybe some small round ones for the bigger holes near it. I want to try and get the Vintage Air brackets figured out first, since I want to get rid of the bolts on the engine side of the firewall. The openings will make it easier to get to both sides with a copper spoon for welding holes shut. I appreciate you sharing your experience though. I'm sure you may have saved me a headache or three if I decided to cut it out later.
