Boy i screwed myself on the new rear-end. The guy wanted $250 for it and I got there just around dark. I looked at it and it didn't have any signs of water intrusion, but the drums were locked up. I offered him $200 if I could just take it as is.

Turns out that was a bad deal. it's a 3.73, but the ring gear has rust pits, one wheel bearing is shot (axle shaft is damaged too) and the carrier cross pin is galled. I payed $200 for a housing and one good axle shaft (the other one might be ok with a repair bearing).

I really could have used the $200 to re-gear my 3.07 rear end. For now I guess I'll keep the axle and rebuild it after my trans swap is done and I have more funds available.
