Studebaker made the trucks that have been said (by Patton I think) to have won WWII. We gave 600,000 of them to the Soviet Union to fight the Germans. Not to mention the ones that carried our war effort once we arrived. They made horse drawn vehicles before going into automotive stuff...

The Russians and the US have modelled modern trucks on the WWII 2.5 ton dual rear axle all (10) wheel drive monsters. Since so many were made, the Russians, Americans, and people all over Europe still have the things. Sort of like vintage Jeeps.
