Rust is expensive, there is no other way to put it. A repaired truck is always going to be harder to sell and/or cheaper than an original, rust-free truck, even though by the time you repair the rust, it costs more.

There ARE rust-free trucks out there. Patience, and being flexible are major assets in your search. Up here in Vancouver (think lots of rain), I found a truck with no rust, so you should find one where you live. Good luck.
