Rod you are right. Warmed up the garage and finally got the windshield installed. In 77 I had a new one put in by a windshield guy moonlighting. I remember him really having to beat it in. At the time he said it was a tight fit. Lesson learned is to pay attention to the bead weld, I think that mine is a little "fat" into the opening at the top and it was catching the gasket, even using the rope trick. After applying heat with a hair dryer and a lot of whacking, and using a fabricated hook to work the lip in, I got it past the interference point and the top dropped in and the bottom corners settled. Now I can button up the interior and get the front clip installed.
