You might be able to find a '63-'70 12 bolt with 3.08 gears. They were available. Of course this is assuming you want to stay with 6 lug. 5 lug conversion axles are available, but you might be better off to start with a '71-'82 12 bolt or a '79-'87 10 bolt even thought they are 1.5" wider. That will depend on your budget and what you want to run for tires. The stepsides have less room for tires than a fleetside.
