Hope it works out. Of course there could still be a problem, but honestly, it is VERY rare that even with worn hinges you can't adjust it below the worn spot! On something like a 65 Chevelle, this method would allow you to adjust the hood so it is WAY too low and smashes the cowl "gutter" area with the hood. So warn hinges or not, you can get it down. My fathers '55 Ford F-100 hood stuck up in the back for years...until I was shown this when I was an apprentice and came home and lowered it properly.
