Re: Post those wheels gallery
These are Wheel Vintiques and they come satin black powder coat. My powder coat guy of the last 40 years got out of it and a new guy (probably worked for him) is leasing the place and bought the business. He wanted what I am used to paying for sandblast & powder coat to just scuff them and coat. Money's tight and if I powder coat I want it on fresh blasted steel. So, I scuffed and painted.
I think the factory wheels were only painted on the face, IIRC. I know that's true for rallyes and any later steel wheels. Nothing lke that all sides powder coat. It was so much easier to just hit one side. I figure when I restore the truck I'll get the blast & coat for a fresh look to match the truck
EDIT: Tires showed up yesterday. Man I love me some new tire! We're getting a rainy day tomorrow, which means no work for me. I'll be heading up to my buddy's shop to mount them up. Antique truck club show Saturday!
