I used a cup brush on the loose surface rust, so its more "orange metal" than rusty floor. where its is welded is ground to bare metal and the rest got a wipe of rust re-formulator. everything is stuck like glue. the front floor got more attention since that is where feet will be sliding around.

the cruddy stripes are actually not rot, they are the old asphalt strips that went under the original gas tank, they just plug up grinder discs and cup brushes. I debated chipping them up, but taking up asphalt strips to lay down asphalt strips seemed unproductive.
