My experience with pusher fans is they only work as a single unit covering a such of the radiator as possible. They are always a poor option to be used only if no other fan will configuration will work as the blades will deflect as much air as they push through.

Agree ,, get rid of the pusher ,,, sounds like you have a "lean issue" , too much timing can also cause excess heat
