(leftover block prior to gen vi production) when i bought my '80 sub and it didnt have the provision. On a side note i have a '75 pontiac 455 thats supposed to have the 500xxx casting but has the 70-74 485428 casting = leftover block from 74 used for 75 factory cars. The factory does that and so does the aftermarket.
