The suckiest thing for both doors is the original french door was some custom order size that we had to pay like a grand for in 2010. Wasn't about to pay that again, so I decided it would be worth the extra sheetrock and paint work to go with a "standard" sized french door and went with the 72x82. It was only $400 vs $1,000 and I can buy off the shelf doors if I ever notice rot again instead of having to replace the entire thing. Even with this size, I still had to fill in the gap with a 2x4 on one side and the top as wall as a 1/2" sheet of plywood to help fill the gap. But the whole point of the new roof and new door was to never do this again
