Whats gives????? Not really worth documenting a build here on the site if they arent going to keep the pics on there anymore.

The pictures disappearing has nothing to do with this web site. If everyone would upload their pictures directly to the board instead of going through a hosting service every one of them would still be visible. I have been posting pictures since 2006 and all of them are still visible.
As Mongo said you have to be a paying member to edit your posts after the 30 minute time limit. It's one of the benefits of being a Premium member. If you click on the word "Subscribe" in the menu bar above it will explain the different membership options.
