Thanks ls1nova71 for the info. I had measured the original dipstick hole and came up with 3/8 also, so I'm glad you were able to confirm that.
I'll start with a pilot hole and work my way to the 3/8 bit.
I'm planning to do that this weekend while I swap out oil pans.
Good that's one hurdle that's been cleared now!

Yes, that is the spot, you can compare it to the pic I posted earlier. The hole, although probably metric is really close to 3/8, so a bit that size should work. The O ring on the dipstick will seal it. Drill with a smaller bit first and work your way up, don't start out with a 3/8 or you probably wont have very good results.
