Hi Chris I have a couple of questions for you regarding you L29 build if you dont mind.

Did you check your retainer to seal clearance? I'm only getting about ~.480 clearance which will not clear just about any aftermarket cam. Did you have the guides cut down at the machine shop to gain clearance and to install positive seals? You cant really run the factory umbrella seals with dual springs.

Also, did you check piston to valve clearance? I have a ZZ502 cam installed in my L29 and just about snuck by with .050 clearance.

w/o these things checked the engine could tear itself apart if there is interference.
