Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I'm not sure which is better the truck or the story???

Project truck, was a runner when the previous owner had it, in their infinite wisdom they decided to pull it all apart. I bought it this way, have no time for it now...too many other projects. It's straight and really has little or no rust. Probably a 283, with a 3 speed on the tree. Also has an extra transmission, plus some totally sweet chrome valve covers!!! (see pics). It's all there, all it needs is some love. If it was just put back together that would probably be a great start. I don't have time or I would and ask more $$.

The pictures actually don't do it justice, it appears to be a disaster but is actually a great starting point.

Supposedly Clint Eastwood bought this new, while he was filming "Hang 'Em High"....he was working long days and had no way to go into town to get a sandwich at lunch...so he bought this truck. One thing led to another, and the whole crew would ride in the bed, they also liked sandwiches at the local gas station in the area. He was glad to oblige, he just wanted to feel like he belonged. He never felt like his father loved him.

The gas station also had pizza pockets and beef/bean burritos, they were way ahead of their time.
