Yes. 292s in 4X4s are rare. They take a special diagonal crossmember. I have never seen a K/5 or Jimmy with a factory one in it. Never seen anyone put one in their own Blazer. But I will someday.
Of course Ford stole a MY '63 292, and by '65 premiered their new and innovative 300" Inline Engine. Wanna talk about reverse engineering? The 300's intake, carb and exhaust are on the Passenger side and the distributor, starter, and fuel pump are on the Drivers side. Go figure?
