I also used brake line. Just go to a 'real' parts store and they will have everything you need.
Lots of pictures of stock 292 fuel line routing on this site (it changes due to year and fuel pump type). I just picked one I liked and matched it best I could. Take your time and you can make something as good or better than anything you can buy.
BTW I once tried to use stainless tube on another project years ago. Impossible to bend by hand, I finally gave up.
