I always wanted to try flattening a front bumper into a rear bumper by running it over with a truck and taking the curve out.

if you are going to buy a bumper, a 1941-1946 front bumper looks dynamite on the back, its not flat like the 47-53, but its not curved nearly as much as the 47-53 front. just to expand your search for used bumpers.
