I worked on the floors this weekend. Anyone that has removed the wood floor from their AD Suburban knows that the body was built around the floor so it needs to come out in pieces. I had an idea floating around for a while on how I would go about replacing it. I used 5/8" marine grade plywood which is basically the same wood I removed. I decided I would use a lap joint on the seams for strength. I also centered the joint over the floor brace as well. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. next I will move my seats up so that I can install the seat anchors. I plan to cover the notch with sheet metal. Next up I will stain the wood and paint the bottom side and edges with an Eastwood rust guard paint for added protection. I can't coat it with raptor liner as the wood fits tight as it is.
