Has the engine been opened up since it was last ran? I've read about(no first-hand experience) two things that could kill the oil pressure. There's a small oil gallery block-off plug inside the front cover. If missing, there will be absolutely no oil pressure. There's also something called a "barbell" in the back of the block. If missing, the pressure is supposedly very low.
