With that a fresh rebuilt glide or 350 trans, new drive shaft and a proper rear axle you are probably looking at 1500 to 2000 to do the swap. More if you have to pay someone to do it.
I'd call Tom Langdon and ask him about the adapter and why he says it won't work with a 216 though. He is a world of knowledge on this sort of thing.
