Several years ago, I removed a factory tach from a junked out '62 C80 farm truck. That one had the transmitter box mounted on the firewall, inside the cab, over near the passenger side kick panel. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics.

That appeared to be the factory installed location in that particular truck (didn't look like anyone had re-located it). But I don't know if that was the standard spot for mounting the transmitter box in all 60-62 trucks though.
