Yes this makes sense to me now. I feel dumb because I only really started figuring this out recently and really analyzing trailer designs. Dad always had this trailer growing up and it is what we used for all our trips to the dump which was only two miles away and only went up to 45 mph. Lots of heavy loads of demo materials, trees, concrete, etc. over the years.
