We ended up replacing it yesterday with a new one. His grandma gave him an advance on grass cutting money, lol. He owes everybody!!

The new carb runs great!! I think that was the problem, all the missing linkage. Fired right up, idled right, good to go!

Once we tackled that, we replaced the rear shoes. That stopped the rear wheel dragging, but now it pulls hard to the left. The PO replaced one of the calipers but I can’t remember which, hoping it’s the drivers side because that would make sense if the passenger isn’t working.
