I would bet most of us have or had to do this. My situation changed only when I split w/an X & needed room for working. An apartment doesn't allow that & even a small house has more 'rooms' than needed (no pets, no kids) as well as limited garage/storage so I opted to rent a shop for the price of a cheap apartment.

Definitely not for everyone but man is it nice for the enthusiast. But, my shop still looks similar when multiple projects are disassembled.
