I totally agree. Nothing worse than being stranded somewhere because you have a special made part fail, that's why I try to stick to OE parts whenever possible. Also, ONLY use a Wix or AC Delco, cheaper auto part store house brand filters are junk, seen way too many with bad regulators straight out of the box.

Several places make them, but only use the kind with the screw on retainer in the end. The aluminum ones that use the factory style plastic retainers are known to blow off. Many fires attributed to them, but they wont stop selling them or recall them..... Here's a link to the good ones.
