are you going for more articulation on the rear suspension or just concerned about axle wrap? here is a forum with a pic showing a kit like mentioned mounted up. there needs to be that shackle at the front to allow for some fore to aft movement as the springs compress, extend or wrap. otherwise the pivot point for the torque arm needs to be inline with the spring mount centerline. ensure the shackle has clearance for a full suspension travel both ways plus some room for safety.
remember, if welding on the axle tubes don't do all the welding at once because the axle tubes can warp from heat/shrinkage when cooling.

and a little thread from pirate 4x4 speaking of axle wrap and one guys fix. has pics.
some guys will run the center arm close to the driveshaft for shaft protection from high centering, just a thought.
