Good write-up on the 637 V-8. As some may remember, I had a 637 Gas in the '71 GMC 9500 I used to drive. An interesting fact is that it was coupled with a 10-Speed Road Ranger Trans. Since the first day we received that truck in April of '72, up to today, I still have never seen, even in pictures or even heard of another with that combination.
I liked it, although I would had much preferred a 6-71 or even a 6V-53, but with it's weak torque, it required a lot of shifting. If it saw a hill coming, I was downshifting, lol.
