If you have the stock truck bell housing, the center hole for a truck may be bigger than the bearing retainer on you "new" transmissions, causing misalignment problems. I think the car centering hole on the bell housing is 4.68is and the truck is 5.125. Might verify you have this correct. There are places to buy a centering ring if you have the large BH and need the smaller opening.
