Re: 700R4 Transmission Cost??

Greg;
Realizing we need more information and even then it's subjective.
Sometimes the 700r4 is referred to as a 4L60. No E on the end.
First you need a core. 1987 through 1992 are the recommended cores.
Getting a complete core is recommended. That way your will have the (other parts)
Like the torque converter cover, Stick and gauge, rear mount and bolts and the TV cable. This stuff will add up quickly if you source it one item at a time.
You didn't mention if you were going to do the rebuild or have it done.
A typical price may be $1500 to $2500 but this can vary a bunch. The more parts you reuse the less it costs. Some builders use a lot of new parts and this raises the price.
Always use a new shell. Sprags, drums and replacement pumps add to the cost.
Some of the cost will depend on how good the core is.
If the cost is scaring you consider a good used one. Although their is a risk of throwing you money away using this route. I see you live in Texas. A lot of good used trucks there and maybe you can get lucky.
Hopefully this is of some assistance.
