Awesome deal on the retirement and freshening up the truck. I will never put a set of headers on a vehicle again...I'm too old, they are too loud, and for about 1 HP per cubic inch (in that ballpark) a set of cast manifolds can work just fine. When approaching the 1HP/CI, I have always port matched the exhaust manifolds to a "more open" set of gaskets (along with the heads) to maximize their throughput. This can be done on the intake side too, but If I had to choose to just do one...I'd do the exhaust side when using manifolds over headers.
