You just need a BIGGER HAMMER With a ball joint tool, I can't remember what called. Perhaps you need some heat if the rust is bad, maybe oil.

I'm no expert, but a floor jack supporting the A arm, and IMO as a novice, secure the spring so it can't come at you. Only takes a few minutes to secure one, chain or something.
