The needle should already be at zero when the key is turned off since you shouldn't be moving when turning it off. If yours isn't at zero I would think there is something wrong with it, although a little off of zero is normal. My odometer doesn't work so there are probably issues with them. I recently bought like 5 VSSBs from the junkyard and a couple DRACs, pretty sure that's the only place to find them. I modified two DRACs to correct my speedometers and I have to do a VSSB now.
