Good luck. Memories and stories will be made.

Here is mine. I did the same thing with my son when he was 13-14. We bought a 69 SWB 4WD 292/3spd/T-221. It was rough but we drove it home. He was hell bent on starting that night. He was up early the next morning ready to start on the truck. We were sanding on the roof and it was maybe 98 degrees with high humidity here in NC that day. He said he was walking over to Nanny's to get a gatorade. I said bring me one back too. I'm still waiting. LOL

His interest faded from 13-14 but it gained speed at 15 when the ability to drive was coming near.

Now he is hooked like the rest of us. We are going to do a SWB LS project together now.

Good luck with the truck.

My son has always liked cars and trucks but he also liked video games. Up until he was old enough to drive he was glued to the games. But since he has been driving he has been more interested in cars and trucks. We have done several Ls swaps on various vehicles since and he is now 23 years old. We built his second truck from the frame and he kept it through high school until about 8 months ago. He traded it off and I really didn’t know how to feel about it. He has traded a couple times since but now has a truck he likes pretty good. I guess it was where we built it together and the sentimental value to me that I didn’t know how to deal with it. But I have since got over it because I guess you can’t keep them all. I am looking forward to memories that come from this build.
