You could put a lot of money on that and not lose. I worked as a mechanic for years, and we tossed those on a regular basis if people came in with complaints. Those restraints did not stop the engine from lifting, they just kept them lifting
too far. They'd lift up and then thump down. People owning these vehicles "second hand" quite likely never saw a notification if they didn't buy it from a Chevrolet dealer. I knew of the recall, since I had worked for a dealer(s) on and off from '70-'72. If they came into our shop, I'd explain what had happened and the cure GM used, but they'd opt for the new interlocking motor mounts, usually. Pretty unnerving to have the engine rise up and thump back down, for sure.
