The SM465 was made by General Motors from 1968 to 1991. They are found primarily in GM and Chevrolet trucks, Blazers, Suburbans and many other models falling under the 1/4-ton to 1-1/2-ton platforms.

Also, I just read that GM produced the SM420 from 1947 to 1967, so 1967 was the last year that Chevy used them in trucks. The previous owner of my 69 K20 informed me that he changed the original SM420 in it to a SM465. Apparently not true. Interesting.
