This was my 65 Chevy short /wide bed 1/2 ton and I drove it slow up a long hill ( 3 miles)to home and made it with out splitting my rims ... .. I have no idea what that load of rock weighed ,, any one know by my deminsions of the bed I stated ?
Now you reminded me of a tale I have. I was 19 working for a home improvement contractor. The boss sent me to the quarry for 57s (same stones as Larry) in his big fat almost new Ranchero "floaty ride". Makes sense, right? I mean it did have factory air shocks after all. I told him "go light" and "just a corner in the bucket". But I'm sure the loader guy at a quarry takes pleasure in overloading little light duty four wheelers for entertainment and a story to tell at the bar. I was only 19 and I knew it wasn't a good idea. Had a hard time creeping back to the job trying to see over that huge hood out front.
