Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the Accel shorty plugs and they didn't work. They really weren't that much shorter than the NGK-7928 that I am using. I am not sure any length plug would have worked.
I was pretty frustrated once I got the shorty plugs anyway. I figured that if I was going to have to make some concessions with the manifolds I should just go ahead and look for headers.
The Sanderson headers that I ordered were twice the price of the Hooker manifolds but hopefully, I will not have to do anything special to run them.

I've used the Accel Shorty plugs. In the pictures, the Autolite and NGK actually look shorter but who knows. I've seen them in tapered and gasket seat.
