In general I use WIX (brand) clear plastic filters, they never have any problems .

Those who claim plastic filters leak & cause fires etc. are lazy guys who never replace it, I replace any time the paper media inside goes from yellow to tan or if the plastic turns any color other than glass like .

No one ever admits they screwed up .
