I can't comment specifically on these doors, but in general:

We would pull ahead minor changes in detail components if we thought nobody would notice, or if there was not a decrease in value, if the timing worked out and it was convenient to do so. That would be one more thing to not have to worry about when the bigger model change hit and we could cross it off our list.

Things that were "marketable", like an appearance change (interior or exterior, like a new grille or front end appearance), that we could charge more for, or that were specifically tied to a new model via regulations would break point on the model year.
