I'm no fireman but it looks like to me that blanket would contain the heat and prolong the cool down.
I believe, as EV become more common, residential architects will no doubt be making changes in home designs, in as far as vehicle parking areas are concerned, to no longer include personal vehicle storage into the home structure. Outside parking and charging will be pushed by insurance companies , removing this risk to the homes and occupants.
