Not a bad price at all! For glue ups, I made a sled for a router using aluminum angle and a 2' X 4' piece of MDF. I obviously don't make big stuff like your kitchen counter with it.
I wouldn't have used it for the coat rack I posted; the router would blow chunks out of the boards, same as a planer.
