Mine's always right on the first line during normal use. Will rise during particularly hot days or hard pulls. It let me know when thermostat was going bad. Started seeing it go nearly to hot range and then suddenly drop. New thermostat fixed it. It's plenty close for me. See no need for aftermarket guages. Thanks for the info on what the actual temp was at low mark. Wish they had marked them with numbers rather than just ranges, but oh well. Like I said, it's close enough for what I need.
