I have the same thing happening to my truck. The drivers door closes fine meanwhile the passenger side I have to slam. The door adjustment is not an option but I read somewhere that letting the truck sit in the hot sun for a period of time seems to relax the rubber. Now after repeated time in our 90+ degree summer heat I don't have to slam it as hard. So I would imagine over time the new rubber will give.
