Right now I'm about $100 into the 5.3L I have in my truck, after selling off and scrapping the donor truck. Still have some less popular parts left so I will likely be ahead at some point.

I got some friends at the local paint and body shop. They got the truck from an insurance auction, with intentions of pulling some parts off of it to fix the owner of the body shop's truck, but never actually did anything to either truck. It sat around for 6-8 months, and they got tired of me bugging them to buy it.
