There are a few fast (expensive) carburetor turbocharged 292 street engines running around. If you can keep the boost low, like 5-6 psi, detonation can be controlled without electronics if you build the engine carefully.The low boost offers maybe 275- 300 hp. However detonation on a supercharged engine will destroy the pistons in a second. Or you can adapt on of the many Rootes style blowers available for the small block V-8. This would be an extremely costly project, you could get the same HP out of a Chevy V-8 for a third of the cost of the 292.
