Yes, you need to pull the top to change the secondary jets........the 1407 runs pretty "fat" out of the box tho. My 383 is running the .107 jets in the secondarys. with the bigger fuel pump, you need a regulator, as the edelbrock carbs dont like more than about 5 - 5 1/2 psi on the fuel pressure. crazyL
