1983 Chevy John Deere Re-power
Slow progress. After mounting the front fenders & hood, I discovered the water pump I had originally picked out for the motor will not work. The thermostat housing would not allow the hood to shut down. I was able to purchase a smaller reman John Deere water pump that bolted right up to this block. I also purchased a used thermostat housing off of a 4 cylinder Deere motor that was shorter, allowing hood to shut with no issues. I need to hang an alternator & power steering pump next.
