There is no difference in the V8 or V6 transmissions as far as strength is concerned. I would highly recommend having it rebuilt with the 9 clutch 3-4 clutch pack, Kevlar Band and larger boost valve. I would also replace the sun shell with the newer hardened one. You will have to get a front drive shaft yoke to fit it the transmission, (TH350 and TH700 are the same), shorten the drive shaft approximately 2.5 inches if you are still using a TH400, install a Throttle Valve cable to the carburetor, install a throttle valve bracket on the intake or carburetor, relocate your cooler lines to fit the trans, and move the frame cross member to the rear for the mount. If it is a 92 with a mechanical speedometer, you can use your existing speedometer cable but the speedometer gears will have to be calibrated to your specific differential ratio.
